About Ghostwall
Every app on your phone wants something from you. Your location. Your contact list. A running log of which other apps you have open. Most of it has nothing to do with the feature you actually asked for it’s just there because tracking you is profitable, and nobody stopped to ask permission.
Ghostwall is what happens when you say no to all of it, in one place, without needing a computer science degree to set it up.
Why we built a fortress instead of a lock
Most privacy tools solve one problem. A firewall blocks apps. Orbot anonymizes traffic. A VPN hides your IP. A separate scanner tells you which apps are creeps. Installing all four means juggling four permission dialogs, four battery drains, and four apps that don’t know the others exist and still leaves gaps between them.
Ghostwall guards the whole castle instead of one door: DNS-level tracker blocking, an embedded Tor client, a per-app firewall with a kill switch, GPS spoofing, and an app scanner, all running from a single VPN permission grant. No Orbot. No second app. No gaps.
What we believe
- No account, ever. Ghostwall doesn’t know who you are, and we’d like to keep it that way. There’s no sign-up screen because there’s no server to sign up to.
- Local-first, by default. Your firewall rules, blocked-domain history, and settings live in a database on your device, not ours. Our in-app Privacy Policy spells out exactly what stays local and what doesn’t no vague “we value your privacy” hand-waving.
- No ads, no analytics SDKs. We don’t monetize your attention or your data, because we’re not in that business. Ghostwall makes money when you buy it, not when you use it.
- Permissions should be explainable in one sentence. VPN access exists to intercept DNS and enforce firewall rules never to read your browsing content. Location access powers GPS spoofing only. If we can’t explain why we’re asking, we don’t ask.
